3 Strategies for Beating Hurry Sickness Video

Video Transcript

Hurry sickness can make you feel rushed, pressured and anxious.

Do you feel as if you're constantly battling against the clock? Or, that your day is spent rushing from one meeting to another?

This is known as "hurry sickness," and it can damage your productivity and work relationships, as well as your health and well-being.

Use these three steps to beat hurry sickness...

  1. Use action-oriented strategies. Hurry sickness can be a symptom of taking on too much. If you want to take back control of your workload, avoid multitasking and remember it's OK to say "no" sometimes.
  2. Use acceptance-oriented strategies. Instead of eating lunch quickly at your desk, stand up, stretch your legs, and get some fresh air. Remember to give yourself a break every now and again.
  3. Use emotionally oriented strategies. A positive mindset can help you to face your challenges when work is piling up. And sharing your concerns with a co-worker or boss can be a great stress reliever.
