Hi Saba,
Sure, would love to assist you. You mentioned that your seniors have told you to ‘improve your greetings’. Would you mind please providing an example?

It’s great this is being talked about so much now and that greater respect is being shown to older women at work – it’s the right thing to do, but it’s also wise for businesses as we need their knowledge and experience!

Today I heard a real-life account of the opposite kind of behavior, reminiscent of the cruellest school-yard trick but perpetrated by a grown woman against her menopausal colleague – she deliberately turned up the heating when her co-worker was around, and laughed at the resulting distress. On top of other bullying and harrassment, this eventually led the older woman to leave her job.

Never was an ally, male or female, more needed!

I enjoy giving and receiving good feedback. In all these years, I’ve never thought to compile a characteristics list for what makes GOOD feedback! Thanks, Sarah!

It can be challenging for leaders to notice their team members disengaging in this hybrid world. I like the idea of coffee buddies. I think it’s more important than ever to be conscious about creating a sense of belonging and provide opportunities to connect. Leaders also need to take into account the preferences of their team members, recognising that some are more introverted, so activities need to respond to different needs.

I never thought of it like this …. I’m probably classed as an extrovert but my social battery has definitely been challenged as we move out of the pandemic. The expectations on an extrovert to hold fort are even higher now and I exhaust quicker. Brilliant piece Kevin, you’ve made me step back, take stock and make some changes!
